Work Experience
Work experience has to be the real thing. It cannot be taught from a book or a computer simulation.
A powerful personal development activity for students, a good placement can increase a young person's self-confidence, give them a positive attitude towards the world of work and, most importantly, make them more attractive to potential employers.
Employers too can gain a lot from the work experience programme. The BHEBS team is always available by phone or email to support employers as they make the gift of their time.
Work experience comes in different styles and the BHEBS team support employers who assist with:
- Block style of work experience for five or ten days for students aged 14 to 19.
- Diploma placements tailored to the specific vocational curriculum
- Extended placements for students who will be on assignment throughout the year.
- Work burst programmes of short insights into work.
- Work shadow placements.
